Accelerated Reading Program

All students in 1st and 2nd grade participate in the Accelerated Reading Program. Accelerated Reader is a program that was designed to give students practice in reading and to develop a lifelong love of reading. Students check out library books and read them at home. Students may take tests in their classroom. The Accelerated Reader program keeps track of points students earn. Points are used to reward students with positive incentives. For every 10 points earned, he/she receives an incentive in the Library. Once a student reaches 50 points, he/she receives a book. At 100 points students become Breaux Bridge Primary Library Club members. Every other Friday, Library Club meetings are held in the Library with fun-filled activities for students.
